Taylah Miranda was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia at 14 and relapsed at 19, experiencing both paediatric and adult cancer care in Victoria. Her cancer experiences have highlighted gaps and opportunities to improve the treacherous journey that comes with a childhood cancer diagnosis. Since her diagnosis, Taylah has been active in the cancer care field, fundraising for Monash Children’s Cancer Centre since 2016, and recently serving as an ambassador for the Children’s Cancer Foundation.

Taylah recently completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science with First Class Honours, researching a rare B-cell lymphoma. With her personal and medical knowledge, Taylah advocates for better and more equitable care for young cancer patients, and bridging the gaps in current cancer care models to improve survival rates and long-term outcomes.
