Sheila’s daughter was diagnosed with neuroblastoma at age three. She draws on her experiences as a parent and scientist to advocate for improved outcomes.

Sheila Patel is a dedicated consumer advocate for childhood cancer. Her commitment to consumer advocacy began after her daughter was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma at three years of age. Sheila volunteers her time on several cancer advisory groups in Australia.

Professionally, Sheila is an experienced medical scientist with training in genetics. Drawing from her personal and professional experiences, Sheila strongly advocates for the improvement of cancer care and long-term outcomes for childhood cancer survivors.
