Maryjo Saliba

Maryjo Saliba was 12 years old when she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, and her brother was diagnosed with the same cancer 12 months later. As well as experiencing childhood cancer herself, Maryjo has also experienced the grief of losing her brother, who passed away in 2015.
Combining her experiences with knowledge from her university education and career in genomics, Maryjo advocates for improving patient care and helping healthcare professionals gain a deeper understanding of the concerns faced by child and young adult cancer patients.
Maryjo is also part of the Very Special Kids Youth Advisory Group and has volunteered with other charities, including Cancer Council and CanTeen.
