Dr Lori Chait-Rubinek

BSc MBBS (Hons)
Dr Lori Chait-Rubinek is a medical doctor whose daughter was diagnosed with cancer.

Dr Lori Chait-Rubinek is a Monash and Notre Dame University graduate starting her paediatric training at the Royal Children’s Hospital in 2018. She completed her first-class honours thesis on the late effects of malignancy treatments in the paediatric and young adult population.

Little did she know how her research would mimic real life when a few years later, her daughter was diagnosed with cancer. The journey from a doctor with an interest in oncology to a parent of a child with cancer was traumatic and enlightening, driving Dr Chait-Rubinek to use her experiences to make a difference through working with the Children’s Cancer CoLab and as a consumer representative on several paediatric cancer research projects.
