Before the creation of the Victorian Paediatric Cancer Consortium, now known as the Children’s Cancer CoLab, our CoLaborators – eight of Victoria’s leading research, clinical and academic institutions – worked independently and without a formal alliance to address childhood cancer.

Recognising the power of collaboration, the Children’s Cancer Foundation brought together our CoLaborators in 2021 to form the Victorian Paediatric Cancer Consortium and obtained an Australian Government Medical Research Future Fund grant for the Consortium.

In 2023, the Foundation and the Victorian Government committed to growing the Victorian Paediatric Cancer Consortium into an independent entity with its own governing Board of Directors and team of independent experts. With the Foundation’s commitment of $10 million and the Victorian Government’s $35 million, the combined $45 million will enable the Children’s Cancer CoLab to accelerate childhood cancer research, innovation and collaboration through its Impact Programs.

The Children’s Cancer Foundation is committed to raising $10 million for the Children’s Cancer CoLab by 2029, and you can support the Foundation’s fundraising efforts here.
